Our prayers + thoughts go out: 30 estimated dead in Newton Connecticut elementary K-Gr 4 school. Whole K class missing! Total chaos! We are all teachers. Strike news follows. For now:
Students being lead from the school. Body count unknown.

US President Obama is clearly distraught and fighting back tears as he speaks live on t.v. As a "father" he acknowledges death of the children aged 5-10, also their teachers and school staff. He speaks to the families of the young children killed. Pauses. Notes even surviving students will have lost their innocence. All US flags to fly at half mast until Dec 18. There have been at least 5 mass shootings since Obama took office, 3 in the last 3 months alone. Gun control issue will again need to be addressed. See: Obama.
