Happy Easter!
Pope Francis' Easter Address [Urbi et Orbi] has a strong social justice message: Full Text
Happy Easter! I celebrate Easter as a Catholic, others as Christians. If you are Jewish, happy Passover. If you are none of the above, please note this is an all affiliate teacher union blogsite. I hope you can share in our joy and just enjoy a good well earned restful holiday.
The message I wish to celebrate here is one of rebirth and renewal. Our teacher union fight is bigger than any of us for it is based upon social justice and democratic rights. It has an element of ascension; we wish to rise above the abuse and misuse of the government and the workplace to create a better working and living world for all our brothers and sisters. There is progress, there are setbacks, it has happened before and it will happen again. Let's not despair despite the often seemingly insurmountable odds. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. Let us all continue to arise to the challenge for the common good!
On a lighter note: here are a few video Easter Eggs for you:
See Jesus Christ Superstar the 1973 movie @ Complete Movie Version
Listen to the Jesus Christ Superstar original 1970 rock album @ Weber + Rice
Or just enjoy these music videos from the movie:
Superstar @ Superstar
Heaven on their Minds @ Judas
Everything's Alright @ Mary Magdalene
I Don't Know How to Love Him @ Ynonne Elliman
King Herod's Song @ A Vamp
Ho Ssana Hey Ssana Superstar @ Hossana
Crucifixtion @ Crucifixtion
Or see Monty Python's Life of Brian @ Complete Movie Version
