Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks, on land, in airplanes and on our ships at sea! Today is our day. Canada is ours to fight for; a true north strong + free from greed, injustice + exploitation. As teachers we must continue to fight the good fight, for social justice and democratic rights, at school, in our communities, and at Queens Park + in Ottawa. But for today ........ Don't forget to relax, put up your feet, and start the BBQ! Enjoy!

I can't find any official Canada Day statement links for the Ontario NDP. Kindly help if you can. There are no links on their website or the twitter account listed that I can see. I really think they should get their communications act together coz this isn't the first time this has happened. I'm sure at least Andrea Horwath must've said something somewhere. Sincerest Regrets. Here's where you can see celebrations today + fireworks tonight across Toronto. When I stop to think about it I'm not so sure I really like to celebrate special occasions with explosions even if they look nice. Try telling me that to a kid though! Maybe it's something primal?
